Warrior

The warrior group encompasses the character classes of heroes who make their way in the world primarily by skill at arms:

Warriors are allowed to use any weapon. They can wear any type of armor. Warriors get 1 to 10 (1d10) hit points per level and can gain a special Constitution hit point bonus that is available only to warriors.

The disadvantage warriors have is that they are restricted in their selection of magical items and spells.

All warriors gain the ability to make more than one melee attack per round as they rise in level. The next table shows how many melee attacks fighters, cavaliers, paladins, and rangers can make per round, as a function of their levels. For characters of levels 7-12, the extra attacks happen on the even rounds. In other words, in the first and third round of combat, they get 1 attack, and in the second and fourth, they get 2, etc.

Warrior Melee Attacks per Round

Warrior LevelAttacks/Round
1-61 / round
7-123 / 2 rounds
13 & up2 / round

Note: This table does not apply to Fighters using weapons of specialization, which may allow more attacks per round.

It also does not apply to melee combat with monsters of less than one hit die (d8) and non-exceptional humans and demi-humans.

Members of any warrior class attack once per round for each of his or her levels against all creatures with less than one eight-sided hit die.
